Colorado Elk Hunt | Western Colorado Elk Hunting

Colorado holds some of the most game-rich hunting areas to be found in the Rocky Mountain West.

This outstanding Colorado elk hunt is conducted on several private ranches located in the southwestern part of the state near the famous Black Canyon of the Gunnison. This pristine area offers everything you are looking for in a western hunt; towering snow capped peaks, hundreds of square miles of quaking aspens, oak brush and pine forests teaming with game just waiting for your arrival.

Your host for this hunt has many years of experience guiding guests in search of big bulls in mixed terrain ranging from 7,000 to 10,000 feet in elevation. This is not a horseback hunt and is designed for all classes of hunters with transportation during the hunt by use of ATV and 4x4 vehicles on ranch roads leading to and from the high country.

Hunting opportunity on these ranches is limited to not more then six hunters annually to preserve the high success rate and animal quality for future years. All hunts on these private ranches are 5-full days guided 2x1. 1x1 hunts are available for an additional fee. Accommodations are comfortable cabins with full amenities. Airport pickup is available in Grand Junction or Gunnison Colorado.

Elk hunting licenses for Colorado’s first and fourth hunts are limited quota and issued by drawing while licenses for the second and third hunt may be purchase upon arrival in the area.
